Outplacement Services

HBA offers outplacement services for all levels of staff who are leaving their employment, generally for reasons such as restructuring and redundancy.

Such work is normally accepted as a commission from the employer, to assist with such difficult exercises, from the point of planning with management for the announcements through to assisting the staff to find alternative employment.

In other cases HBA works with management to establish redundancy procedures that are fair to all concerned and then help to apply them in identifying those staff affected and then working with staff to help them through the difficult time to find another position.

HBA help Management by:

  • Identifying appropriate policies and procedures where redundancies are to apply
  • Supporting managers in making announcements to the affected staff
  • Supporting and advising on policies and practices that should be applied to remaining staff not directly affected by redundancies
  • Advising on communications, internal and external, through the process
  • Assisting in rebuilding morale within the business after redundancy announcements
  • Supporting unaffected staff who may need independent counselling because of redundancy announcements

Help the affected staff by:

  • Providing one to one counselling to individuals
  • Focusing on the individual's strengths and intentions to assist in rebuilding morale and self-esteem
  • Using psychometric testing where appropriate to assist in identifying likely career
  • Preparing CV's with staff which properly reflect their skills and abilities
  • Targeting likely employment prospects in the 'open' and 'hidden' employment markets
  • Planning job search programmes
  • Identifying how best to make contacts to 'open doors' with employers
  • Using personal contacts to uncover employment opportunities
  • Preparing staff for employment interviews to ensure they present themselves in the manner most likely to result in an employment offer
  • Offering 'infrastructure' support at all times with administration, secretarial, office accommodation and other facilities appropriate to each staff member's needs
  • Providing a conduit between the staff member and the organisation should this be seen necessary to maintain common decency
  • Ensuring that they are provided with appropriate levels of psychological support throughout

Within limits of individual confidentiality and discretion, HBA provide management with progress reports throughout the exercise to keep them aware of progress in each case.

Our costs for this service are charged on a fixed fee basis at highly competitive rates depending on the needs of the client.
